Terms, Conditions & Refund Policy

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Escape on 13th website and your participation in escape room experiences at our facility located at 342 W 1300 S, Salt Lake City, UT 84115. By booking a session or visiting our facility, you agree to these Terms in full. Please read them carefully before completing your booking.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing our website or booking an escape room experience, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or have parental/guardian consent) and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are booking on behalf of a group, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind all members of your group to these Terms.

2. Booking and Payment

All bookings are made through our third-party booking platform (offthecouch.io). By completing a booking, you agree to the following:

• Payment is due in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed upon for large group packages
• Pricing is 36.99 per person, Monday through Saturday. Pricing is subject to change without notice
• Gift cards are valid for any room booking and may expire within a time period allowed by law. Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash
• Large group packages and custom event pricing will be confirmed in writing prior to deposit

3. Cancellation and Rescheduling

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation and rescheduling policy is as follows:

• More than 72 hours before your session: You may reschedule at no charge, subject to availability. Please contact us directly at (385) 200-1360 or info@escapeon13th.com
• 24–72 hours before your session: Rescheduling is available once at no charge. Cancellations within this window may be subject to a rescheduling fee
• Less than 24 hours before your session: We reserve the right to reject rescheduling or refunds for cancellations made within 24 hours of your session start time.
• No-shows: Guests who do not arrive for their scheduled session without prior notice forfeit their booking and are not eligible for a refund or reschedule

For large group bookings and private event rentals, separate cancellation terms will be outlined in your event agreement.

4. Refund Policy

Refunds are issued under the following circumstances only:

• Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled session may be eligible for a full refund at our discretion.
• If Escape on 13th cancels your session due to technical issues, facility closure, or circumstances within our control, you will receive a full refund or complimentary rescheduling at your preference
• Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to the original payment method

We do not offer refunds for dissatisfaction with the difficulty of puzzles, failure to escape, or any other subjective elements of the experience. All escape room experiences are provided as described and we do not guarantee that any group will successfully escape nor have a positive experience.

5. Arrival and Participation

• Arrive 15-20 minutes early. Your session begins at your booked start time regardless of when you arrive. Late arrivals will receive the remaining session time only
• All guests must check in and sign a participation waiver before entering the rooms
• All bookings are 100% private — your group will be the only group in your room
• Sessions last exactly 60 minutes. Your Game Master will end the session at the scheduled time
• Guests under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate and will forfeit their booking without refund

6. Guest Conduct

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, the following conduct standards apply:

• Treat all equipment, props, and set elements with care. Do not force, break, or damage any room elements
• Follow all instructions from your Game Master at all times
• Do not bring food, drinks (except sealed water bottles), or outside props into the rooms
• Aggressive, threatening, or abusive behavior toward staff or other guests will result in immediate removal from the facility without refund
• Smoking, vaping, and the use of illegal substances on the premises are strictly prohibited
• Escape on 13th reserves the right to remove any guest from the premises at any time for conduct that endangers safety or disrupts the experience

7. Liability and Waiver

Participation in escape room experiences involves physical activity and interaction with themed environments. By booking and participating, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You participate voluntarily and at your own risk
• Escape on 13th, its owners, employees, and agents are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property arising from your participation, except where caused by our gross negligence or intentional misconduct
• All guests are required to sign a liability waiver before participating. Minors must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian

8. Damage to Property

Guests are responsible for any damage caused to Escape on 13th property, equipment, or set elements as a result of misuse, negligence, or intentional acts. We reserve the right to charge the credit card on file for the cost of repair or replacement of any damaged items.

9. Photography and Media

We may provide a complimentary themed souvenir photo at the end of each session. Additional photography inside the rooms during your session is generally permitted for personal and social media use. You agree to not record or share detailed video of room layouts, puzzles, or solutions on public platforms, as doing so spoils the experience for other guests.

By participating in an Escape on 13th experience, you grant us the right to use any photographs or video taken by our staff during your session for marketing and promotional purposes, including on our website and social media channels.

10. Age Requirements

• All guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a supervising adult (18+) who is also participating in the session
• We recommend ages 6+ for Arcadia, 8+ Walk the Plank, and ages 10+ for Species Unknown, and 10+ for Curse of Anubis
• All bookings must be made by a person aged 18 or older
• We reserve the right to request proof of age
